What We Offer

Community Cares let us practice God's love to our communities and neighbours:

1. Capstan Garden 

Our Community garden, named Capstan Garden is a community service platform of the church, in which:
• all can participate simultaneously and share, from elderly to young children, regardless their ages, languages, ethnicity, or cultural background.
• a platform of community engagements and outreach: creating opportunities for shared interests, conversation, exchange of experiences and ideas, even community solidarity.
• assist the congregation and those participants from the surround community to understand and take serious of food security and food justice: to understand the true costs of food through small scale organic gardening/farming
• constitutes a basic & tangible task of caring for creation: getting up close to God’s creation through tending the garden to appreciate the beauty of God’s handy works, and the wonder of the co-dependant characteristics in the garden’s ecosystems.
• Help those less fortunate with organic produces by donating / supplying local food banks or charitable organizations serving meals.
• a platform of spiritual formation: character forming in perseverance, appreciation, thanksgiving, trust, reliance in God…

 

2. Serving in Elders Home

Every 2nd Monday on each month, we visit senior home to serve the elderly, provide them entertaining performances and God's messages. Simply to bless them and brighten their days.

 

3. Support the shoebox project of Samaritan's Purse

Operation Christmas Child provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on project of Samaritan's Purse that focuses on the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus Christ - God's greatest gift.

 

4. Shoreline Cleanup

We join the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup that is about removing shoreline litter to help create healthy waters for everyone, including the wildlife and communities that depend on them. It is the basic responsibility of being a good and faithful steward. 

 

5. Yard Sales

We operates an annual Community Yard Sale to encourage and promote recycling of used things as well as green life to our neighbours. Simply trying to do our small parts in reducing the waste in the enviornment.
